A first glance at the new political map after the June 2 elections The surprising magnitude of the victory of Morena and its allies in all the elections held on June 2 caused a profound change in the distribution of political power that will last for many years. A victory of Claudia Sheinbaum was fully expected but with a narrower margin (between 10 and 20 points) and with counterweights in Congress. However, no one considered in their scenarios that the official coalition could have a 30-point margin in the presidential election and qualified majorities (2/3) in both legislative chambers. In the Senate, the official coalition is only missing three senators, whom they will be able to get without much problem.
