Today, former Minister Aloizio Mercadante will take over as president of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). President Lula (PT) and Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) will participate in the ceremony in Rio de Janeiro. This week, President Lula (PT) will make his third trip abroad since becoming president. Lula has already been to Argentina and Uruguay and will now travel to the United States to meet with President Joe Biden. On Wednesday, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) will resume judgment of the cases that discuss the limits of the sentences in tax matters, such that taxpayers will automatically lose their right not to pay a certain tax if the STF decides that the charge is constitutional.
