Armenia and Georgia sign deal

On January 26 the two prime ministers signed an agreement in Tbilisi. The strategic partnership is about economic, transport and cultural ties. However, few specifics have been disclosed. Trade between the two was worth USD 1 billion in 2023. That seems like a small amount but Armenia has only 3 million people and Georgia, one million. Both economies have been boosted by the Ukraine War as Russians have fled there to avoid the draft and Russia has been buying Western goods via these two nations to circumvent sanctions. Georgia is trying to play the honest broker in the low level conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This Georgian agreement with Armenia will displease Azerbaijan.
