Armenian PM calls early election

On March 18 Nikol Pashinyan bowed to the opposition's demands for an election this year. The elections will be held in June 2021. President Sarkisian has agreed to allow early elections. Pashinyan tried to fire military chiefs who publicly castigated him after he said that some of the army's Russian-made military hardware did not work. The president refused to remove the generals who said Pashinyan was unfit to be PM.
