Azerbaijan and Armenia exchange prisoners

On December 7 the countries released some prisoners of war. They published a statement saying they will enact measures to build mutual confidence and that they both hope for permanent peace. It mentioned territorial integrity, which Azerbaijan understands to mean that Armenia recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The European Union said it is happy that the two states have agreed to this. Baku has bid to host the UN Convention on Climate Change in 2029. Yerevan has backed this as evidence of its benevolence. Baku returned the compliment by adding its voice to the campaign for Armenia to be a member of the COP Bureau for Easter.
