Azerbaijanis claim major victory over Armenia

On November 8 Azerbaijan boasted that it has retaken a town that it has not held since 1991. It is in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh Region. The Armenians call the town Shushi. Armenia says there is a battle ongoing on the town but that the Azerbaijanis have not taken it. Armenia admits that at least 10% of its soldiers have been killed, wounded or captured in 6 weeks of fighting. They cannot continue to take such casulties. Azerbaijan outnumbers Armenia at least 3:1. Since full scale fighting broke out on September 27 there have been three ceasefires. All have been broken within hours. The Azerbaijanis believe that they have impetus and are not going to stop advancing until they have to.Neither Trump nor Biden has had much to say on the conflict. Russia has been unusually restrained about Turkey muscling in on the Russian sphere of influence and bringing Syrian and Libyan militants to fight for Azerbaijan. For Azerbaijan this seems like an uniquely good time to fight.
