Baltics donating to Ukraine

On January 11 Lithuania announced aid for Ukraine including anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft systems, artillery and shells. On January 11 Zelensky also visited Latvia, where he met the president. Latvia also announced military aid to Ukraine. This comprises anti-tank systems, anti-aircraft systems, drones, communication equipment, winter clothing, electric generators, self-propelled artillery and shells. The electric generators are because Russia sometimes strikes energy infrastructure. Latvia will train 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers in 2024. There are also Canadian troops in Latvia and Lithuania who are training Ukrainians.Latvia is also treating wounded Ukrainian soldiers. On January 10 Zelensky was in Estonia. It is also donating to Ukraine.  The three Baltic republic are former Soviet countries. They strongly identify with Ukraine. Lithuania is per capita the second most generous donor after Norway. But because of its small population of 3 million its donations are a tiny fraction of what Ukraine needs. As Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine eased off in mid January it was a good time for Zelensky to go abroad. He is not being accused of running away in Ukraine's hour of need.
