Mar 20 National Financial Regulator: The watchdog will conduct an asset quality review of the 11 biggest banks in Kazakhstan this year. Mar 21 Government: Kazakhstan and Qatar signed an agreement for long-term strategic cooperation to develop projects in priority sectors (the estimated amount is $17.6 bln). Mar 23 President: Mr. Tokayev expressed his deep condolences following the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall during a phone call with Russian President Mr. Putin. Mar 26 Energy Ministry: The scheduled expansion of the Tengiz oil project is due by the end of 2024. Agriculture Ministry: In 2024, Kazakhstan will reduce the wheat sowing area by 3% to 13.3 mln ha. Mar 28 Local authorities: Investments to build an airport in Kazakhstan near the border with China (in the free economic zone called Khorgos - Eastern Gate) could reach $555 mln.
