Sep 24 Kazakhstan Stock Exchange: Kazakhstan held a global call with investors as part of the preparation for a new 5Y sovereign Eurobond issue. EBRD: The bank has kept its forecast for Kazakhstan’s GDP growth in 2026 unchanged at 4.7%. Halyk bank: The bank intends to issue discount bonds worth KZT100 bln ($224 mln). Sep 25 President: Kazakhstan and China signed 50 commercial documents worth a total of $8.2 bln during the Kazakhstan‑China investment forum in Almaty. Black Sea Trade and Development Bank: A lack of investment financing for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is estimated at $30-35 bln. Sep 27 President: In mid‑September, Mr. Tokayev removed Mr. Kosanov from his role as Minister of Defense following a tragic accident. During the “Khazar Korgany‑2026” military drills on the Caspian Sea coast, 17 servicemen were swept out to sea while disembarking from the Kaysar boat; 3 were rescued, but 14 lost their lives. Mr. Myrzakhmetov has since been appointed as Kazakhstan’s new Minister of Defense. Audit Chamber: The Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan has launched an audit of the Ministry of Defense. President: Mr. Tokayev ordered a plan for Kazakhstan's military reform within ten days. Sep 28 Ministry of Justice: The Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court has rejected an appeal from the Kashagan field operator, North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), which sought to have enforcement proceedings for a KZT 2.3 trln fine declared illegal and overturned.
