Apr 4 Energy Ministry: Kazakhstan continues to export oil via the CPC system in a regular mode. Apr 9 Parliament: The Senate (upper house) has ratified the agreement with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan on a possibility of mutual supply of "green" energy. Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development: The Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Trans-Caspian fiber-optic communication line is planned to be launched in 3Q26. Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market: The Kazakh authorities suggest that non-bank financial organizations should switch to using a local messenger. National Chamber of Entrepreneurs: Kazakhstan plans to increase sugar self-sufficiency to 83% by 2030. NBK: Kazakhstan's gross international reserves decreased by 6.8% in March to $129,5 bln but have increased slightly YTD (by 0.1%). Apr 10 The US Department of Agriculture has raised its forecast for wheat exports from Kazakhstan for the current agricultural year (July 2025 - June 2026) from 10.5 to 11 million tons. Energy Ministry: Kazakhstan's electricity system achieved a generation surplus in 1Q26, meaning production exceeded domestic consumption. Asian Development Bank: The bank raised the forecast for Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2026 from 4.5% to 4.8%. National Railways: Railway transportation between Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries has increased by 34% y-o-y in 1Q26. National Investment Fund: Samruk-Kazyna placed debut 3Y panda-bonds worth CNY 3 bln at 2.18%. NBK: The Bank sold foreign currency received from gold exports on the domestic FX market of about $2.1 bln in 1Q26.
