Bolsonaro: Aftermath of the attack

There is no doubt that Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) benefits electorally from the knife attack he suffered on Thursday (September 6) in Juiz de Fora (MG), which left him seriously injured. Not only does the episode present him as a victim of the violence that he fought against but also as a victim of the intolerance that has dominated this year’s campaign. The benefit should be confirmed with an uptick in intended votes in polls that will be released throughout next week.
The shock wave in the country following this attack will have important social repercussions with emotions and solidarity fueling the Bolsonaro campaign and with new volunteers and support from previously undecided voters.
