Bolsonaro’s reaction increases tension

The tension between branches of government has been growing in the last hours and is taking on the appearance of a potential institutional crisis. After the repercussions from the Federal Police (PF) operation against allies, militants and parliamentarians linked to the Bolsonarismo, President Jair Bolsonaro delivered strong criticism to the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.

This clash between the branches will have new developments in the coming hours. STF Minister Edson Fachin, after receiving a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGR) to suspend the investigation into fake news, submitted the matter to the plenary of the Supreme Court.

The political temperature, which was already high, continues to increase with the advance of the fake news inquiry. In this scenario, the relationship between the Executive and Judiciary branches will face major challenges in the coming days.
