On June 17 Boris Johnson visited Ukraine. He seems to be Zelensky's favorite foreign leader. When Johnson survived a vote of confidence on June 6, Zelensky said he was elated. Johnson has reaffirmed the United Kingdom's fulsome support for Ukraine. The UK shall train 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers every 120 days. London clearly sees this conflict lasting for years. Ukraine is due to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. However, it is unable to do so for obvious reasons. The UK is keen to offer itself as an alternative. On June 16 Russia banned 59 prominent Britons from its territory. They are mostly academics and journalists.
