The results of the municipal elections confirm the predominance of center-right parties, reinforcing their role as an important indicator for the 2026 general elections. The data shows that the "Centrão" bloc has consolidated its dominance. Tomorrow (October 8), the Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Gabriel Galípolo as president of the Central Bank (BC), replacing Roberto Campos Neto, whose term ends on December 31. On the same day, Galípolo's appointment is expected to be put to a vote on the Senate floor. On Wednesday, October 9, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) will hear Google’s appeal questioning the legality of breaching the confidentiality of a non-identified group of individuals without specific justification or individualized conduct.
