After the defeats the government suffered in Congress, pressure has increased for changes to be made in the ministerial team and political negotiation. However, this should only take place toward the end of the year, after the municipal elections. Today, the Ministry of Finance may announce measures to compensate for the payroll tax relief for companies and municipalities. The Federal Revenue Service calculated that R$ 25.8 billion will be needed to offset the revenue loss from the extension of the payroll tax exemption. The Working Group (GT) in the House on the Tax Reform bill on IBS and CBS will hold a series of public hearings—17 in total.
