Chinese defense minister in Moscow

On April 16 he visited Putin and the Russian Defense Minister. The Kremlin was very keen that the media report this because the Kremlin wants to emphasize that China is friendly to Russia. Minister Li said that ties between the two countries are closer than ever. Russia was elated that this is his first visit abroad since being appointed.  The Russian president noted that the two countries exchange information and collaborate in technology as well as conducting joint exercises. Putin said that all this deepened trust between the two nations. Russia is selling China oil at below market priced. China is neutral on the Ukraine War but Western countries have alleged China of selling small arms to Russia.  Finland started erecting a border fence along the Russian frontier on April 15. Russia is keen to demonstrate that it, too, has allies because Finland has just joined NATO.
