Clash between the STF and social media does not reduce Bolsonaro’s supporters’ digital activism

In a statement made yesterday, Facebook said that it will appeal the decision of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) that closed the accounts of Bolsonaro’s supporters on its platform. Twitter also announced that it would be doing the same. STF Minister Moraes asked for the accounts to be suspended internationally after noting that the national ban from Friday, July 24, had had little impact. After changing their location settings, Bolsonaro’s supporters resumed their activity and began cursing at the minister. Even though Moraes’ decision blocked the accounts of Bolsonaro’s supporters on Facebook and Twitter internationally, the group has not been demobilized.
