Next week, the National Congress will host the 10th Summit of Presidents of the G20 Parliaments from November 6 to 8. The event’s theme is “Parliaments for a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet.” Due to this, access to Congress will be highly restricted. On Monday or Tuesday, November 4 or 5, the Lower House may vote on a bill establishing new rules for the distribution of parliamentary fund transfers, in line with an agreement between the three branches of government. Amid fiscal uncertainties, the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) will decide on the basic interest rate (Selic), currently at 10.75% per year. An increase of half a percentage point is expected.
