Contagion continues to rise reaching 245 positive cases

As of March 22, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed 245 positive cases for Covid-19, 43 cases more than the previous day and 133 more than the number confirmed as of March 21. This means the number of positive cases is growing exponentially. Part of it is related to a significant increase in the number of tests conducted. 41% of the cases are women and 59% are men. Total number of deaths remains low (3). 543 suspicious cases were negative, and 395 cases remain under observation (considered suspicious). Of the total number of cases: 43 are related to travel abroad to countries were there is local transmission, 59 are confinement in health centers,183 are in domiciliary confinement The government is moving cautiously in its response to Covid-19 (perhaps too much which entails risks) and is trying not to overreact. However, is on top of the issue and looks ready to implement additional social and economic measures to contain the epidemic and reduce the economic effects. In the coming days, lockdown could be extended to more economic activities, and new decisions could be announced aimed at easing the economic effects of the epidemic.
