Denmark green lights Nord Stream 2

On July 6 Denmark granted permission for a pipeline from Russia under Denmark's territorial waters. The pipeline is being laid with less sophisticated technology than originally planned because US sanctions have made it impossible to access the most advanced ships. Only 120 km of pipeline remain to be laid. Russia can use its own ships for this. Akademik Cherskiy is one of its ships which is in those waters. Fortuna is another ship to be used. The pipeline will take at least 3 months to complete. US sanctions have prevented Western companies from participating in the pipeline's construction. Allseas is a Swiss company that has withdrawn from the project.
