In Brasília, the discussion about the exemption or return of the payroll tax continues to be the focus of the political debate. Yesterday, the president of the National Congress, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), met with Senate leaders to discuss the issue. He is looking for a negotiated solution in order to dispel the perception that there is tension between the Legislative and Executive branches. After meeting with Lula yesterday, the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho (Republicanos) said that the program to issue airline tickets at reduced prices of up to R$ 200 will be announced in the first week of February. It is worth highlighting that the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira (PSD), and the Minister of Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira (PT), will announce the restructuring of the Social Biofuel Seal. The program grants benefits to biodiesel producers who meet percentages for purchasing raw materials from family farms.
