Yesterday, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dario Durigan, stated that the Ministry of Finance plans to present a proposal to the National Congress this year to modify the FGTS (Severance Indemnity Fund for Employees) birthday withdrawal mechanism. In other news, the government has decided to remove the urgent status from the complementary bill regulating Tax Reform currently under discussion in the Senate, after the deadline for voting on the proposal expired on September 22. Today, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) may resume the trial of a case challenging the variable rates of the Special Tax Reinstatement Regime for Exporting Companies (Reintegra). The fiscal risk to the public accounts is estimated at R$ 49.9 billion.
