Today, electoral campaigns on TV and radio will resume in the 52 municipalities where a run-off will take place. The campaigns will run until October 25, and the run-off is scheduled for October 27. Today, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) will begin a virtual plenary session to determine whether the 25% income tax rate, exclusively withheld at the source, is valid for pensions and earnings from sources located in Brazil and received by individuals residing abroad. Also today, the STF is expected to conclude the hearing of cases challenging the reduction and subsequent reinstatement of PIS and Cofins tax rates on financial revenue. Next week, Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), rapporteur for the bill concerning the IBS and CBS, which are part of the Tax Reform regulation, is expected to present a timeline for the legislation’s progress.
