Recently the government announced its proposal for Energy Reform. The reform aims to develop “reliable, sustainable, inclusive and affordable energy, a diversified electric generation capacity, and higher levels of sovereignty in Chile´s energy requirements”. With a price above US$150 per MW per hour, electricity in Chile is among the dearest in the world. According to a study by the World Economic Forum, the country ranks 13th in terms of the most expensive electricity worldwide.
