EU to give Ukraine EUR 600 million

On December 9 Brussels announced that it is granting more macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. This is in view of coronavirus and its economic repercussions. The Vice President of the European Commission said more aid will probably be forthcoming. The money needs to be spent on raising living standards and combating corruption. The EU noted Ukraine's cooperation with the IMF and its movement towards EU membership in the announcement of the financial aid. Further cash injection will be contingent on Ukraine making progress on issues related to corruption and living standards.
