In a brief X post, President Erdogan pledged full support for the newly revised Medium-Term Program (MTP), indirectly expressing his trust in Minister Simsek, which ought to quell rumors about his resignation.

CHP’s Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu believes he will soon be banned from politics. If true, the verdict could be harbinger of early elections “soon”.

CHP leader Ozgur Ozel now demands early elections in November 2025. His previous deadlines were end-2025, and the first quarter of 2026. For the time being, Erdogan is likely to ignore him, but with the campaign for a new constitution DoA, he has no choice but negotiate with Ozel eventually, who holds all the cards.
