Explosions at Russian base in Belarus

On August 11 there were explosions at a military base in Belarus. Russian troops have been stationed there in the past but it is unclear if Russian troops are there presently. Belarus said there was an accidental fire and this caused a small explosion but there were no casualties. However, a Belarusian Telegram channel said that there was more than one explosion at Zyabrovka Airfield. The Russian Air Force often uses the base 30 km from Ukraine. Russia is a formal military ally of Belarus. However, Belarus has not sent troops into Ukraine. Ukraine has not claimed an attack on Belarus. To do so might provoke Belarus to go to war against Ukraine. Belarus has sentenced people who sabotaged railroads in 2022 to long jail terms. The saboteurs were trying to stop the Russian Army transporting troops to Ukraine.
