Final countdown is starting
Putin’s out-of-the-blue proposal to turn Turkey into a NG hub for Russian gas is impractical, but it immediately raised eyebrows in the West, with the Biden administration openly putting the sanction threat on the table. Painful sanctions are not imminent, but possible.
After the draconian censorship bill, more evidence is accumulating of dirty tricks by the administration to trip the Table of Six. Meanwhile, the spike in Erdogan’s approval ratings and poll support for AKP-MHP should dissipate by November, the politics author believes, which will witness the final downtrend in their respective fortunes. In the New Year, the Table of Six will announce its presidential candidate, its election plank as well as a coalition protocol, which should hasten the slide in Erdogan and AKP-MHP ratings.
