Third-quarter GDP contracted 1.7% in relation to the previous quarter. The estimate for the year is a drop between 3.7% and 4%, and based on an estimate that GDP will fall by 1% in the fourth quarter, the carry-over to 2016 is -2%.
The recession has lasted six quarters and the drop in GDP drop from the previous peak already adds 5.8%, meaning this is one of the longest and deepest recessions dated by CODACE.
