Germany to give Ukraine USD 1.3 billion in arms

On November 21 the announcement was made by the German Defense Minister, who visited Kyiv. He was marking 10 years since the Euromaidan protests began that toppled the pro-Russian president, Victor Yanukovich. On November 20 the US pledged another USD 100 million. That is a drop in the ocean compared to the roughly USD 50 billion the US has given since the war began. The US President also has a USD 4 billion fund that he can give at his discretion but he might give some or all of this to Israel.  Germany will give four IRIS-T defense systems. The country has already donated three. After the US, Germany is the biggest donor. Ukraine desperately needs more arms. Without them the war will turn from a stalemate into a Russian victory. There is no way Ukraine can match Russia's military production. German arms shipments are balanced by growing calls in the EU for peace talks.
