Finance Minister Fernando Haddad announced yesterday that the government will make a cut of R$ 15 billion to comply with the fiscal framework this year. There will be R$ 11.2 billion of blocked funds, due to spending above the 2.5% limit provided for in the framework, and R$ 3.8 billion in contingencies. After a series of delays, the Voa Brasil program, which is expected to offer air tickets for up to R$200, will finally be launched next Wednesday, July 24, in a downsized version. With the new reformulation, the first phase will focus on discounts for retirees only. The Attorney General's Office (PGR) opposed a request submitted by the PT for the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to suspend the signing of a new concession contract between the City of São Paulo and the Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo (Sabesp), which is in the process of privatization.
