After a meeting with the Presidents of the Lower House, Hugo Motta, and the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad (PT) announced a series of measures to offset the increase in the IOF tax. The package was announced late Sunday night, June 8. This week, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) will take testimony from defendants in the inquiry investigating the attempted coup d’état in 2022. The first individual to testify will be Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to former President Jair Bolsonaro. On Wednesday, June 11, the STF will resume joint deliberation on two appeals regarding the civil liability of internet platforms for third-party content and whether offensive material can be removed at the request of the offended party without a court order.
