Yesterday, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad announced that the government plans to submit a proposal for income tax reform to the National Congress within the next 60 days. The bill is expected to include the creation of new tax brackets and the introduction of taxes on profits and dividends, among other points. Next week, the House will resume voting on the bill that regulates the management of the Goods and Services Tax (PLP 108/24), authored by the Executive Office. The main text approved (303 votes in favor and 142 against), by Deputy Mauro Benevides Filho (PDT-CE), is the second part of the Tax Reform regulation. Election ads can be aired on radio and TV starting on Friday. The time will be divided in a proportion of 60% for mayoral candidates and 40% for city council candidates.
