The Brazilian government has been cautious regarding the tariffs announced by the United States. Finance Minister Fernando Haddad stated that the best approach at the moment is to wait, as he believes there is room for negotiation. Today, Haddad is traveling to the Middle East, where he will participate in the Conference on Emerging Market Economies, organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on February 17. Next week, on February 19, the Supreme Federal Court (STF) may resume deliberations on an appeal regarding the validity of a municipal law that, in practice, allowed the appointment of relatives of public officials to political positions within local governments such as leading municipal departments.
