The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, confirmed that the new fiscal framework will be submitted to Congress only after Lula returns from his trip to China. The framework is expected to be submitted during the week of April 3. Yesterday, the press reported that the Office of the Chief of Staff and the Attorney General's Office (AGU) are planning a legal offensive to modify rules within Eletrobras in order to guarantee more power for the government in the company. Today, the Central Bank announces its decision on the basic interest rate (Selic), currently at 13.75% per year. The minutes of the meeting will be published next Tuesday, March 28.
