The ADN of Daniel Noboa has been able to reach an agreement with Revolucion Ciudadana and Partido Social Cristiano to conform a majority of 94 legislators.The Social Christians sum 18, and ADN contributes 25, after capturing additional 11 legislators. Albeit those names have not been disclosed yet, most probably at least eight belong to Actuemos from Otto Sonnenholzner. On November 17th, this majority will elect the authorities and the members of the different committees, including the Administrative Council in charge of analyzing and approving bills and political proposals before they reach the plenary. The Social Christian Henry Kronfle would have the necessary votes to be elected president, ADN and RV could capture the two vice presidencies, and these three parties might also have ensured three places out of five in the CAL. Pierina Correa is the most-voted legislator and will preside over the first session next Friday. She has also been the spokesperson for RV these days and confirmed today the agreement and their intention to support Henry Kronfle and key programmatic axes of Noboa’s next government, including security and economic decisions. On the other hand, both Henry Kronfle and Valentina Centeno, representing ADN, stated that the agreement does not include the impeachment of the General Attorney, Diana Salalzar, nor any initiative to save political criminals from possible legal actions. Centeno confirmed that the two first urgent economic bills that Noboa intends to send by December this year—a tax reform and an energy reform— will be analyzed under the agreement.
