A meeting with the Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Attorney General has been scheduled to discuss the Federal Police’s autonomy to investigate allegations involving fraud at the INSS, Brazil’s social security agency. The issue has generated significant attention because the investigations involve President Lula’s son, Lulinha, and a former presidential aide, Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro, known as "Marcola". Today, Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency Guilherme Boulos will meet in São Paulo with representatives of labor federations, unions, and grassroots movements to discuss the constitutional amendment proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule, under which employees work six days followed by one day off. Next week, Congress will resume its activities and hold its first concentrated legislative session. There will be one more before the elections, from August 31 to September 3.
