Iran to sell more weapons to Russia: Western reports

On October 17 the Washington Post said that anonymous NATO intelligence sources have said that Iran is boosting arms sales to Russia. Deliveries include two kinds of surface-to-surface missiles and attack drones. Iran has been selling arms to Russia since August 2022. The short-range ballistic missiles would be the first that Iran has sold to Russia. Russia seems to have been using Shahed 136 drones on Ukraine in recent days. Iran denies selling any arms to Russia. Relations between Ukraine and Iran are bad. Russia has cozied up to Iran as a fellow anti-Western country. Israel is the deadly enemy of Iran. Ukraine is hoping for weapons from Israel. Israel is loath to do so because it does not wish to provoke Russia. But relations between Moscow and Tel Aviv are sour. Russia suggested that if Israel armed Ukraine then Russia might break off diplomatic relations.Â
