The rapporteur for the nomination of Jorge Messias to the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Senator Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA), announced that he will formally read the nomination next week, on April 15. The confirmation hearing is scheduled for April 29, with a plenary vote expected on the same day. Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) announced that the next joint session of Congress will take place on April 30 to consider the presidential veto of the bill reducing sentences for those convicted in connection with the January 8, 2023 attacks. Next week, the Lower House will decide who will fill a vacancy at the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), following the mandatory retirement of Aroldo Cedraz in February at the age of 75.
