Yesterday, Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Gilmar Mendes requested a review and suspended the trial discussing whether the Inheritance and Donation Tax (ITCMD) applies to the transfer of private pension plan funds upon the death of the account holder. Before the suspension, the vote stood at 3 to 0 against the imposition of the tax. The Lower House is expected to conclude voting on the second Tax Reform bill this week and send the text to the Senate. It’s worth noting that an edit to the text regarding this very point of the ITCMD is still pending a vote. The Senate's Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) is holding a public hearing today with representatives from the real estate and construction sectors to discuss the first Tax Reform bill approved by the House.
