On February 16 Kazakhstan announced that it is manufacturing the Russian vaccine with Moscow's permission. The Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex has been granted the certification to do so. Kazakhstan is the first country outside Russia to make the vaccine. It is thought that India, Brazil, South Korea and others will follow suit.Kazakhstan only started vaccination early in February 2021. The country hopes to make 90,000 doses of Sputnik V by the end of the month. The goal is to vaccinate 6 million of the country's 18 million by the end of 2021. Kazakhstan is supposed to make its own vaccine, QazCovid, in March 2021.
