Kazakhstan seeks to attract businesses that have left Russia

On July 14 the President of Kazakhstan said his country wishes to welcome hundreds of Western businesses that have left Russia to set up in his country. Moscow will not like this. Kazakhstan is in the CSTO and the Eurasian Union, which are both Russian led. The country has refused to recognize Luhansk and Donetsk. The president noted that the world is struggling for investment capital. He would be crazy not to take the opportunity offered. The president said that this draft of investments in manufacturing has not borne fruit. Some allege that Kazakhstan expedited Russia's parallel imports to allow in foreign brands without the approval of the trademark holder. The US Treasury stated that Kazakhstan had shipped such goods to Russia. Kazakhstan then banned this practice.Â
