Leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia meet in Russia

On October 31 Putin met the two leaders in Sochi, Russia. He said that he wanted to arrange a permanent peace between the two countries. He said that there were some issues that had not been resolved. Armenia and Azerbaijan issued a joint communique after the talks in which they vowed not to use force and to continue negotiations. They want to normalize relations and start trade. The Prime Minister of Armenia said that he is happy to agree to Russian peacekeepers in Armenia extending their stay by up to 20 years.
