The president of the House, Arthur Lira, said that the deadline is short as there are only about 20 working days left until the National Congress recesses. A consensus must be reached this week so that the PEC can conclude its analysis in the Senate next week and, later, be submitted to the House for analysis. In the Senate, appointed positions may be put to a vote. Both are for the position of Minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). The Minister of the Federal Audit Court (TCU), Augusto Nardes, asked for a leave of absence, claiming health issues. In an audio message leaked by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, Nardes claims to have spoken with President Jair Bolsonaro and that, “in a matter of hours, a day, a week at most, maybe days or less than that [there will be] a very unpredictable event in the nation”.
