Today, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, will present a Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) to Congress regarding public security. The proposal expands the federal government's powers and creates a mandatory fund to finance security activities. The opposition is pushing for amnesty for those involved in the January 8 events. The demonstration that gathered more than 50,000 people on Paulista Avenue shows that the issue has public support, although it is not the majority view. In the analysis of the charges against former President Jair Bolsonaro, Justice Luis Fux has advocated for a review of the sentences.
