Having covered much of the recent developments in our Monthly (of July 8, 2022), we provide a brief update in this post-Eid Weekly Tracker.
On the politics side, the two most important developments, which may sound obscure and trite to our readership -- and, in that order -- are the accelerating Covid Omicron B5 outbreak and the illness of Turkey’s bane, Sunni pastor Fethullah Gulen. The first could undermine a so far buoyant tourism season, while the latter may reduce fears of more Gulen machinations vis-à-vis another coup, but neither development is significant enough to alter our predictions -- yet.
