President Lula was confirmed yesterday by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). There were some protests in Brasilia with buses and cars set on fire. As we had warned, some events could occur, but there is no risk of them becoming something more serious or consistent. The PEC has a chance of being approved in the House later this week. But deputies are interested in reducing the period of validity from two to one year. The judgment of the rapporteur's amendments by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) may interfere with the voting process of the PEC. The trial is scheduled for tomorrow.
