Yesterday, April 10, President Lula confirmed the appointment of Federal Deputy Pedro Lucas Fernandes (from Maranhão) to take over the Ministry of Communications, replacing Juscelino Filho. Yesterday the federal government enacted the 2025 Annual Budget Law (LOA). The budget was approved almost entirely as passed by Congress, with two specific vetoes. The opposition in the Lower House gathered the required number of signatures to initiate the fast-track processing of an amnesty bill to pardon those convicted for participating in the events of January 8, 2023.
