President Lula (PT) is expected to sign into law this week the bill on the Individual Income Tax (IR) exemption. The bill was approved last week by the Federal Senate and is one of the president’s main bets to boost his popularity in 2026. President Lula’s (PT) appointment for the existing vacancy on the Supreme Federal Court (STF) is expected in the coming days. An intense dispute for the seat has been underway since October 9, when then-Justice Luís Roberto Barroso announced his retirement. On Friday, November 14, the Court will begin, via its virtual plenary, to hear the criminal complaint filed by the Office of the Prosecutor General (PGR) against Federal Representative Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL–SP) for his role in advocating U.S. sanctions against Brazilian authorities.
