Last night, the House approved the federal intervention decree issued by President Lula for the public safety of the Federal District (DF). Today, the decree will be put to a vote in the Senate. According to the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, approximately 1,500 people were arrested or detained. In a press conference, he stated that the federal intervention could be revoked if the situation in Brasília returns to normal. On Monday, there was also an attempt to set up a Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate who financed the anti-democratic acts. Democratic representatives have called for the extradition of Jair Bolsonaro from the United States so that he can be investigated in Brazil. The White House issued a statement saying that there is no formal extradition request.
